Zebra Midge

A tiny pupa-imitating nymph — silver wire ribbed body, tungsten bead head — for fishing midge hatches and cold-water tailwaters year-round.

Also calledZebra Midges

The Zebra Midge is the cold-water default. Sizes 18–24. The silver wire rib catches what little light penetrates a deep tailwater pool, and the tungsten bead head sinks fast enough to get the fly into the strike zone before drift.

Fish it under an indicator or as a dropper below a heavier nymph. Black is the standard; red, olive, and chocolate brown all produce in different rivers.
