The Sex Dungeon is Kelly Galloup's signature articulated streamer, built to move the biggest browns in a river rather than catch numbers. It imitates nothing specific - it is a baitfish silhouette and a water-pushing presence. Two hook shanks linked by wire give it a long, jointed body that snakes and swims, and a trimmed deer-hair head shoves a wake the fish feels through its lateral line before it ever sees the fly.
Tied on size 2-4 hooks. Olive and black are the workhorses; yellow gets the nod in dirtier water or low light when the fish need a louder color to find it. This is not a clear-water finesse fly - fish it in stained to off-color water.
Fish it on a sink-tip and heavy tippet (0X-2X). Cast to the bank, the wood, the deep seam, then strip it back hard with a sharp, erratic retrieve that makes the head jerk and the tail kick. Best in water from 46-60F, and it will still move fish from 42-65F. It shines when flows run normal to high and the water dirties up after rain. Cover water, hit every likely lie, and expect violent eats.
