Wooly Bugger

A general-purpose streamer with a marabou tail and a chenille body. Imitates everything from a leech to a small baitfish — the streamer equivalent of "tie one on and start fishing."

Also calledWooly Buggers · Woolly Bugger · Bugger

The Wooly Bugger is the streamer default. Black, olive, or brown; sizes 6–12. The marabou tail breathes when stripped and pulses on the swing. It catches trout, bass, panfish, and most other warm-water species.

Strip it past undercut banks. Swing it through pools. Drift it dead under a strike indicator. There isn't a wrong way to fish a Wooly Bugger.
