fly

Copper John

A heavy attractor nymph with a copper-wire body and a tungsten bead head. Sinks fast; flashes in deep water. The standard "anchor fly" in indicator and Euro nymph rigs.

Also calledCopper Johns

John Barr's Copper John is engineered for one job: get to the bottom fast and stay there. The wire body adds weight without bulk; the tungsten bead doubles down on density. In an indicator rig, it's the anchor fly; in a Euro rig, it's the point fly.

Stock multiple sizes (12–18) and colors (copper, red, chartreuse, black) — different rivers and conditions favor different combinations.
